8 Darling Island Road – REVY
8 Darling Island Road is the restoration and redevelopment of a heritage landmark building into 60 premium luxury apartments. Located on Darling Island and fronting Jones Bay, the building is one of four that form the heritage listed Royal Edward Victualing Yard (REVY).
Located at the northern end of the REVY site and designed by W L Vernon in 1912, 8 Darling Island Road was constructed as a stores building for the Australian Navy and the Postmaster General’s Department. Andrew Anderson of award winning architects PTW has created a design that aims to enrich the appearance of this highly visible building and will provide truly unique residences. The apartments will offer a unique heritage appeal balanced with everything required for modern inner city living. With spectacular sweeping Sydney Harbour and the Bridge views the apartment building will incorporate a beautifully landscaped rooftop providing entertaining and dining areas as well as a 25 metre lap pool.
Citta Property Group and their consortium partners purchased the site in 2003 from the Department of Defence and have successfully had the site rezoned to accommodate residential along with gaining Development Application approval to develop the site. Citta Property Group also had the role of development and project managers for the project.
In May 2015 the consortium sold the site to Aqualand.
